Check out the Pollinator Garden tab for more information on plants for pollinators.
A tree identification table was set up for the Southington Land Trust Nature Day.  In spite of the cool day, it was a very successful venture.
🌟🌟🌟🌟  The Orchard Valley Garden Club is thrilled to announce that member, Kathryn Hanlon has received the Connecticut Master Gardener Association Lifetime Membership Award.  This award recognizes Katy's significant and sustained impact and contributions as a volunteer on behalf of the Master Gardener program and for the community.  Katy's dedication to gardening is evident in her:
  • service as a mentor to master gardener interns, those new to gardening and many hours of dedicated work to local garden clubs, particularly the Orchard Valley Garden Club.
  • initiating the creation of a pollinator garden along the Farmington Linear Trail
  • dedicated Wednesday mornings at The Elizabeth Park gardens.
Congratulations to Katy for her continued volunteer, education, and conservation efforts!🌟🌟 🌟🌟

Plaques were placed next to trees previously planted along the linear trail in memory of two members who are truly missed! Fred Nyren & Cathy Bouchard. Cathy’s husband and Fred’s daughter were present
